Managing Partner - Don Christensen (don@reliancepartners.net)

Don Christensen is the founder, organizer and Managing Partner of Reliance Partners, LLC and the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of its affiliated entity, U.S. Capital, Inc.  He conceived U.S. Capital’s structured asset backed investment grade bond program designed to be privately placed with qualified institutional buyers and high net worth individuals.  Reliance Partners is a full service merchant bank and investment banking advisory firm headquartered in San Diego, California.

Prior to founding U.S. Capital, Inc. and Reliance Partners, LLC, Don Christensen managed the La Jolla, California office of Edward Jones, a member of the New York Stock Exchange.  In two years, Mr. Christensen was able to open over 240 new individual and business accounts while increasing the assets under management in the La Jolla branch office 3700% during his tenure.  He received numerous awards during his tenure at Edward Jones including the Edward Jones Regional Leader Award in 2001.

Mr. Christensen’s education began at the United States Air Force Academy in 1995.  After finishing his freshman year at the service academy, he went on administrative leave and returned to Oregon to be closer to his mother, who was battling breast cancer.  Mr. Christensen received an honorable discharge from the Air Force Academy and attended the University of Oregon during his second and third year of college and was able to earn his Bachelor of Science in three years.

Mr. Christensen also pursued his Master of Science at the University of Oregon.  He was a graduate teaching fellow in the Department of Motor Control where his emphasis was on Neuroscience.  He was instrumental in the set-up and design of the university’s newly formed ocular-motor control laboratory. He finished his studies in March of 2000 and shortly thereafter moved to San Diego to begin his career with Edward Jones.

General Partner - Christopher J. Haskins (chris@reliancepartners.net)

Mr. Haskins is the co-founder and General Partner of Reliance Partners, LLC.  He is also an Executive Vice President and acting Corporate Secretary and Treasurer of U.S. Capital, Inc.  Prior to joining U.S. Capital, Inc., Mr. Haskins worked for Wells Fargo Bank and specialized in residential and commercial finance. 

Mr. Haskins has previously volunteered his time and energy by serving in Americorps, a network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment.  Mr. Haskins devoted his time to Americorps by tutoring and mentoring youths.  He had prior experience working with and educating children, teaching elementary school in the Forest Grove school district located in Forest Grove, Oregon.  Mr. Haskins attended the University of Oregon where he earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Political Science and minored in Business Finance and Administration. Currently Mr. Haskins is an active volunteer with the California region of the Mastiff Club of America.
